Grand Designs Australia Live 2013

In 2013 Dean and the team once again participated at the Grand Designs LIVE event, this time in both Sydney and Melbourne. A contemporary design, inspiration and influence was drawn from natural materials to give an organic and rather raw feel. Comprising of three main zones the exhibit featured cooking, dining and relaxation areas.
Materials featured included natural stone in the form of paving and walling, timber for flooring and decorative elements and corten steel in structural and sculptural pieces.
The standout element was the steel pergola and chandelier defining the dining zone. Timber fins further defined the zone whilst maintaining an open feel. Circular stone clad bench seating provided a contrast in materials anchoring the area.
Wine barrel seats topped with synthetic grass providing an interesting and practical element were strategically placed throughout the exhibit. A nestrest hanging lounge was an indulgent feature signifying the relaxation zone.
The zones were then surrounded by lots of plants to provide a lush natural feel. Mature feature trees of Crepe Myrtle and Purple Beech helped give the exhibit an established feel.
